What is daycare like in Korea? 🇰🇷
If you’re a foreign parent living in Korea, you may be curious about what a typical day at a Korean daycare looks like. While every daycare center is different, toddlers usually spend their days learning, playing, eating, resting, and building friendships.
At my child’s daycare, everyday activities can be surprisingly diverse. Along with regular playtime and classroom activities, children may have opportunities to experience things outside the classroom, too.
They might try fishing, explore simple farming activities, enjoy pretend play with friends, or take part in creative activities. These experiences give children opportunities to explore Korean culture and learn through hands-on play.
Meals are also an important part of the day. Korean daycare centers generally provide meals and snacks appropriate for young children, and parents can often receive updates about what their child ate through the daycare communication app.
Another thing I appreciate as a parent is seeing how many different activities children experience throughout the week. Some days are quiet and focused on classroom play, while others might involve outdoor activities, seasonal experiences, or special projects.
Of course, daycare is not just about activities. Children also have time to rest, socialize, and learn everyday skills such as sharing and participating with their friends.
